Lorraine Joy

Lorraine has worked for Cleveland Alzheimer’s since 2011 as the Training & Development Administrator. During that time she has integrated herself into the strong ethos that the company holds for working/supporting people affected by dementia. She enjoys the varied aspects that the role requires including; working with her colleagues, providing inductions for new employees, working professionally with external agencies and meeting the people who use our services.

Previously, for 8 years Lorraine worked as a Co-ordinator for a Mental Health organisation and like Clevearc the company was a registered charity. She is therefore able to use some of the fundraising skills that she learnt in her past employment to assist the Chief Executive in submitting application bids. Being a charity at times can be very tough financially, although when bids are successful it enables the organisation to improve and develop the services offered.

The Training Suite is a hub of activity and is used for: employee training, carers’ classes, NVQ (QCF) inductions and assessing, the Fusion Café and meetings. Lorraine has experience and qualifications in IT, Literacy, Numeracy, Training Staff, Safeguarding and Dementia. She also has City and Guilds in Portable Appliance Testing; this enables her to annually check all electrical equipment within the Training Suite to ensure it is safe to use.

Clevearc’s vision for the future of the Training Suite is to introduce new projects, maintain current services and ensure every employee is given the opportunity to gain valuable qualifications whilst working. This will benefit the employees allowing them to progress and improve their career, knowledge and skills. Lorraine believes that everyone should be able to reach their full potential and she offers her full support as and when required.
